Southland Boys’ High School proudly fielded three teams - two from Year 8 and one from Year 10. We are delighted to announce that our Year 10 team - Max Bekhuis, Cooper Peterson, and Astin Stubbs - secured first place in the Southland region, bringing home the coveted Southland Regional Trophy. Congratulations to these outstanding students for their dedication and impressive mastery of Japanese culture!
Our two Year 8 teams, featuring Tom Driver, Deegan Jenkins, Cooper Murchland, Eli Taula, Seb Naera, and Sefton Janie, also put in a fantastic effort, enjoying the challenge and the chance to connect with peers from other schools.
Now in its 10th year, the Japanese Trivia Championships are much more than a competition - they celebrate cultural learning and encourage students to deepen their passion for the Japanese language and heritage.
