On Friday 7 March, led by the Old Boys' Association, we dedicated the school museum to Lynley and Russell Dear, renaming it the L & R Dear Museum.
Lynley, a dedicated staff member since 1983, played a pivotal role in preserving the history of Southland Boys’ High School. Through her passion and commitment, and with the support of her husband Russell (also a colleague) and the Old Boys Association, she collected and curated the school’s rich heritage, leading to the establishment of the L & R Dear Museum at the school in 2006.
Lynley's vision and dedication have ensured that the legacy of Southland Boys’ High School is preserved for generations to come. Lynley, we thank you for your dedication and love for the history of this school.
Following the event, Tabita Sales was introduced as the new archivist. The museum and school will continue to thrive thanks to her expertise and passion.
