Four students from Southland Boys' High School have received the Commerce Top Scholar Award for the Southland Region from the New Zealand Commerce and Economics Teachers Association.

The Findex Southland CETA Top Scholar Awards are based on student performance in NCEA for 2023. Thomas Smith, Ajay Smith, James McLeay and William Paris were judged on their internal and external results for 2023, which were then compared to other students in the Southland region.

The students will be presented with certificates and badges at the next assembly, but also take home a cash prize!

Additionally, two students were finalists in their subject areas - Will Cairns, for Accounting, and Jayden Jiwan for Business Studies.
