Author Pauline Smith visited a Year 9 class to discuss her novel, Dawn Raid.

The Year 9 hub, Monowai, were very fortunate to have Pauline Smith, author of Dawn Raid, visit Mrs Welsh’s Y9 English class on Wednesday. The class have been reading Dawn Raid and thinking through the ideas presented by this book - particularly the ideas of justice and equality in society.

It was an added bonus to live zoom Tigi, one of the original Polynesian Panthers, and ask him questions about this time in New Zealand's history. 

As the Year 9's begin to write their speeches, they will be continuing to think about the ideas and events that Tigi and Pauline shared with them.
