On Friday 17 March we celebrated the sporting excellence of some extremely talented young men.
A list of national placings and incredible personal achievements are below:
ATHLETICS
James McLeay, Cody Lawson and Jakob Voorkamp were congratulated for their national placings at the New Zealand Club Athletics Championships - held recently in Wellington. James placed 2nd in the Mens U18 800m. Cody placed 2nd in the U16 200m, and 3rd in the U16 200m. Jakob placed 3rd in the U16 100m Hurdles, and 4th in the U16 800m.
CRICKET
Charlie Hopcroft, Mika Muliaina, Travis Mann and Lachie Riley have all recently played outstanding games of cricket.
Charlie, playing vs The Willows in Christchurch, got 5-34, and was presented with the game ball. Mika, playing vs Kings' High School, got 100 Not Out, and was presented with the wicket that no one could knock over! Travis, vs Kings' High School, also got 100 Not Out, and 5-11, and was presented with the game ball and one of the stumps. Lachie Riley, vs Kings' High School got 3-10 and 5-11, and was presented with the game ball.
CYCLING
At the National Track Cycling Championships, Cooper Robertson, Oliver Keast, Liam Ramsay and Magnus Jamieson achieved incredible national placings, as listed below:
