On Friday 10 March we held a rugby boot giveaway, organised by Headboy Ruairidh MacCallum in conjunction with local charity, The Shoe Booth. It was a huge success!
In order to prepare everyone for the upcoming rugby season, Ruairidh contacted Maddison Booth, Head Prefect at Southland Girls' High School, and her mum Donagh Booth from The Shoe Booth. Maddison and her mum started The Shoe Booth to provide free, good quality shoes to children in Southland.
A call for donations of spare rugby boots went out, and the donations came flooding in. On Friday Ruairidh, Maddison and Donagh laid out the rugby boots, as well as some uniform items, and the great fitting session began. Nearly every pair of boots went to a new home, and we hope everyone is now geared up for the rugby season!
Thanks go to Maddison and Donagh Booth for your support, Ruairidh for coordinating it, and to everyone who donated rugby boots.
